"KENNY"
Multiple Best in Show & Specialty Best in Show
CH TLC-n-K's King of Hearts

#1 Black Cocker Spaniel, 2000
 Pedigree Award Winner, 2000
American Spaniel Club Best of Variety Winner
Whelped 9/30/1996
Co-owner: Yakko Shiraishi: Misty Wood, Japan
Co-Breeder: Hilda Stollenwerk

"Kenny" is one of my most favorite cockers.  He is the epitome of breed type in body  and temperament.    He's a compact, sturdy dog with great bone and substance.  He has a classic cocker head ... not too wide in the backskull, plenty of width and depth in the muzzle, good ear set, big black nose and  soft eye expression.  He has wonderful overall  balance with  good length of rib, a short loin and plenty of leg.  He is of ideal size and exactly 15inches tall measured at the shoulder.  His body is great to touch with a big forechest, super angles at both ends, and a perfect topline & tailset.  He is OFA certified and his stifles are good.  He is a wonderful dog with a sweet and loving disposition.  At home he is always the perfect gentleman, and in the ring he loves to show.

Kenny has spent his life between my home here in the States and his best friend and other mom, Yakko's,  home in Japan.
With very limited breeding,  he  is the sire of  several outstanding and  top-winning dogs both here and in Japan.  Kenny is no longer available at stud because by the age of seven he  had developed cataracts in both eyes causing blindness.  Though there were only a few breedings prior to that time,  he has produced cataracts in at least two of his offspring.   My greatest hope is that through the current  research we will be able to find the DNA markers for cataracts so that we can reduce the incidence of this genetic problem in our breed.  Meanwhile, Kenny is well and happy with Yakko  where he spends his days playing, and he even has a buddy named "Yeti" who serves as his own "seeing-eye" dog!

"JOKER"
Specialty Best in Show & Group Winning
CH Crazy Q's What a Joke
Whelped 6/5/1987
Co-owner: Debbie Nemrow
Breeder: Lisa Pino

"Joker" was truly a special boy.  He finished his championship as a puppy, and from there he went on to be my first Specialty Best in Show and  group winning dog.   He had so much heart and he loved being in the ring.   "Joker"  had beautiful breed type, pretty head, a rock hard topline, perfect tailset,  and the sweetest disposition ever.    He especially loved kids and  puppies.  Once when his puppies were only six weeks old, and they were playing in an enclosed area, "Joker" jumped over the fence just to get in and play with them.  He was rarely without a tennis ball or a sock in his mouth... but he only liked clean socks, and he knew exactly which drawer to find them in.

As a producer, "Joker" has been the sire of a handful of top-winning dogs and many wonderful family companion dogs.  He consistently puts his stamp on his puppies, and his positive effects on the breed are still alive in his kids, grandkids, and beyond.  I am forever grateful to have him as an integral part of my own pedigrees.

"WEBSTER"
Multi Best In Show/ Best in Specialty Show
CH Westglen Blak-Gammon
July 1989-October 2005

"Webster" was my once in a lifetime dog.  His conformation and breed type made him a great example of a Cocker Spaniel, and with his cocky attitude he was  the epitomy of a "show" dog.   He took the ring by storm, and I am forever thankful that I was the one at the end of his lead.

During his lifetime, Webster captured 22 All-Breed Bests in Show (with eight in a row!) and 28 Specialty Bests of Breed.  In 1993, at the height of his show career, Webster was the #1 Cocker Spaniel, all varieties, #2 Sporting Dog, and the #10 All-Breed Dog in the country.  Even now, all these years later he is still ranked #3 in the all-time Owner-Handler Sporting Group Hall of Fame. Three of his most memorable wins were the Sporting Group 2 at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in 1993 under judge Annie Clark, the Best in Show at the American Spaniel Club show in 1994 under judge Mr. Ron Pemberton, and his last Best in Specialty Show in Washington from the Veteran Class under judge Ms. Polly Swanson.  Webster's final appearance in the ring was in January, 2005 for the American Spaniel Club's Parade of Champions, where at the age of 15 1/2 he earned a standing ovation, and he loved every minute of it!

As a producer, "Webster" is a dominant black.  He has improved fronts, and put his heart and soul into his offspring.  Several of the top winning blacks over the past few years have been sired or grandsired by "Webster".

Webster was such a phenomenal dog both in and out of the ring.  At home he was smart, clean and the ultimate house pet.  He loved people and tennis balls and he always enjoyed life to the fullest.  Words cannot express how much Webster meant to me.  He taught me so much about dogs and people. He showed me first-hand how important proper training is for any dog, and he convinced me how critical is it to use only positive reinforcement methods while training a reactive one.  Webster is the reason that I have been able to do the work that I love for  many years, and I am so grateful to have had him in my life for sixteen of those years.  He will always live on in my heart and in the memory of those who ever saw him show.

Rest in peace sweet Webbie...
